Cookie Policy

No advertising cookies, no tracking, no third-party analytics — so there's nothing to consent to and no banner. Just two strictly-necessary cookies and some data kept on your device.

Effective 22 July 2026Last updated 22 July 2026brightgoal.in@gmail.com
§ 01

The short version

We do not use advertising cookies, tracking cookies, or third-party analytics. No Google Analytics, no Meta pixel, no session recorders, no cross-site trackers of any kind.

What we do store falls into two groups: a small number of cookies that are strictly necessary to sign you in, and data kept in your browser's local storage to make the software usable.

§ 02

Cookies we use

We use two cookies, both strictly necessary:

CookiePurpose
_sessionIdentifies your signed-in session
sessionThe secret that authenticates that session

Both are HTTP-only (JavaScript cannot read them), secure (sent only over HTTPS) and same-site strict (never sent from another website). They are removed when you sign out.

Without these cookies you cannot sign in. They carry no advertising or tracking function.

§ 03

Data stored in your browser

Brightgoal keeps information in your browser's local storage so the software works well. This stays on your device. It is not a cookie and is not transmitted to us automatically.

Preferencesyour theme (light or dark), your language, and which library you last had selected.
Interface statewhich tab you were on, table filters, sort orders, page sizes, and saved libraries or filters on the public map.
Cached recordslists such as students, seats and lockers, kept briefly so screens open instantly instead of reloading from scratch.

Unsaved form drafts — and this one deserves your attention.

When you begin filling in a form — adding or editing a student, for example — what you type is saved in your browser as you go, so a refresh or an accidental navigation does not lose your work. That draft can include a student's name, contact number, address and identity document number, and it stays on that device until the form is completed or cleared.

On a shared or public computer, sign out when you finish and clear the browser's site data. Anyone who later uses that browser profile could otherwise see a part-completed form.

Locationif you use the public map and allow your browser to share your location, it is stored on your device so the map does not ask again. It is used to sort libraries by distance. You can refuse, and the map still works.
§ 04

Payment pages

When you pay a subscription invoice, the payment is handled by our payment provider, Cashfree, inside a secure checkout. Cashfree may set its own cookies to process the payment and prevent fraud. Those cookies are governed by Cashfree's own policies, not this one. We never see your card, UPI or bank details.

§ 05

Public library websites

Public library websites at brightgoal.in/username set no tracking cookies. Visitors can browse a library, check availability and see an estimated fee without being tracked, and nothing typed into the enquiry estimator is stored by us.

§ 06

Controlling this

Cookies — your browser can block or delete cookies. Blocking ours will sign you out and prevent you signing in again, because they are required to authenticate you.

Local storage — clearing your browser's site data for brightgoal.in removes everything described in §3, including preferences, cached records and any unsaved drafts.

Location — revoke the location permission in your browser at any time.

Because we run no advertising or analytics cookies, there is nothing to opt out of and we show no cookie consent banner. There is no tracking to consent to.

§ 07

Changes

If we ever introduce analytics or any other non-essential storage, we will update this page and our Privacy Policy before doing so, and will ask for consent where the law requires it.
