The short version
Brightgoal subscription payments are non-refundable. You can cancel at any time, and you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for.
We refund duplicate or erroneous charges, and we refund the unused part of your period if we shut the service down.
Cancelling
You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account.
- Cancelling stops the next renewal. It does not end your current period.
- You keep full access until the end of the period you have already paid for.
- You can resume before that date and continue as normal.
- Nothing is deleted when you cancel. Your data stays in your account.
Why we do not refund
Brightgoal never charges you automatically. There is no auto-debit, no standing instruction, and no saved mandate on your card or bank account. Before each period, an invoice is issued and you decide whether to pay it.
That means you can never be charged for a period you did not want. If you no longer wish to continue, you simply do not pay the next invoice. Because every payment is a deliberate, prepaid choice, we do not refund periods that have already begun.
This applies to:
- subscription payments, including part-used periods
- add-ons such as extra libraries or extra staff seats, including add-ons you remove mid-period
- SMS credit packs
- periods during which you chose not to use the service
When we do refund
We will refund you in these cases:
Duplicate, failed or erroneous charges. If you were charged twice for the same invoice, or money was taken for an invoice we did not fulfil, we refund it in full. Contact us and we will verify and process it.
Money debited but the payment did not complete. Occasionally a bank debits an amount while the payment fails at the gateway. These are usually reversed automatically by your bank or the payment provider within 5–7 working days without any action from us. If it has been longer, contact us with the date and amount and we will trace it.
If we end the service. If we discontinue Brightgoal, or close your account without cause, we refund the unused portion of your paid period, pro-rata.
Where the law requires it. Nothing in this policy removes rights you have under consumer law that cannot be waived.
Student fees are not handled by Brightgoal
If you are a student and you want a refund of fees you paid to your library, please contact your library directly.
Brightgoal is software the library uses to keep its records. We never collect, hold or process the money students pay. Those payments are made directly to the library, in cash, by UPI or by bank transfer, and the library simply records them in our software afterwards. We have no ability to refund them, and any dispute about them is between you and your library.
How to request a refund
Email brightgoal.in@gmail.com with:
We respond within 30 days. Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method through our payment provider, and typically appear within 5–10 working days of approval, depending on your bank.

Changes
We may update this policy. The version that applies to a payment is the one published when that payment was made. Material changes are notified by email at least 30 days in advance.
